Very Purple Person

Today, i came across one of my sister's bestfriend facebook page, mbak Novitha Estiti. She used to work with my sister as a fashion stylist in one of the most prestigious magazine in Indonesia. Now she lives in Japan with her little adorable family. My sister always said that she's the coolest bestfriend she ever had, and i feel the same. She likes to post these photos about her sewing works in Japan, it always appeared on my home timeline but i haven't had the time to check it. So today when the post appears on my home screen i clicked it, and found the most awesome handmade clothing ever! the cutting and the patterns are unusual and unique, and she sew it all on her own. FESTIFRANCE 2011

It's a common thing in my faculty when students from each department held their own festival. for example, the German department always held KULTURFEST each year, and many other festival from different culture which represented by the language they're learning. but my department, the french, never held one. so this year, pretty much our (class of 2008) last year in college, my friend Saviq decided to make the very first event held by french students and called it FESTIFRANCE. at first some of us was very pessimistic, we yelled and argued towards each other, got a very serious warning from our lecturer (cos they thought that we can't make it) and some of us decided to bailed out cos this event is very stressful. but then, when it happened, tears of joy and happiness came from our eyes. we made it. Me, Nindia, Falia, Atika, Nabila & Fatima were working on the fashion show division. it wasn't easy since we're running low on budget. but we didn't give up, and at the end of the day, we get the most compliment! they said this is the best runway show held in UI so far. they said they never see the room that full before. they said they don't care how much money we asked if the result is as badass as that. i am seriously proud with my team. this wouldn't happened without our teamwork. and i salute the other division too (talk show, music, short movies, ballet dance, exposition, etc) for pulling quite a show too, wouldn't make it without them either. all of the hard work paid off, seeing everybody so happy and so relieved at the end of the show brings happiness tears to my eyes. before the event, i really wished that it'll be over soon. but now, i really miss having the crew around, i miss coming home late cos i have to attend the meeting, i miss running around panicking looking for equipment. it was the sweetest memories before i graduate, and i hope our junior can continued this legacy.

Turns out that rizkiansyah had prepared another surprise for me. one of his friend's comin home for a week and he sent my birthday presents thru him. so on Thursday, after a long tiring day at college, i came home and found a brown paper bag on my bed and when i peek thru it, i'm totally speechless. this is the stuffs i found in there:

and this magazine, FRANKIE, i kinda told him already that i like it and wishing he'd bring this for me when he came home later in november. and what do you know, the shipment came early than i've expected.

 bottom line, i'm extremely happy. i don't know what to say, this is just beyond sweet. i wuff you soo much, Po :-))

Melissa Chaib

came across this cute illustration when i was tumblogging this morning. i went to the source page and found many other cute illustration. the person is Melissa Chaib, i don't know who the hell she is but i think she's brilliant! i think she's European, probably french or Italian girl.

it got me thinking, when my wedding day comes, i don't wanna do a pre-wed photos. instead, i wanna hire couple of illustrators such as this Chabib girl, fifi lapin, and other notorious illustrator to illustrate me and my husband's face. how cool is that?

my sister

after seeing my previous works (of me and kamila) my sister wants me to take her photos too. so yesterday we'd done this crazy photo session at home wearing our wardrobe and props. after that we went to my newest fave cafe (thanks to nindia satiman) NEVER BEEN BETTER to edited my work. I'm happy that my sister and her friends (who also came hanging out with us) complimented my work, such a huge relief for me coz they aint rookie.

I've been thinking, for the very first time in my life, yesterday i finally found out what i want to do with my life. i wanna be a photographer, specifically in fashion. I'm no good in capturing moments, but I'm good at capturing human's essence. this is something I've been passionated about for a very long time. I've started this hobby since highschool, i even used to get paid from my friends when they asked me to taking their photos. I've been struggling and dying inside when this hobby stops due to college, but now since I've started it again, i feel alive. i practically grew up in the fashion industry influenced by my sister who has been working in the industry since i can remember. heck, I've been in pages of seventeen magazine several times when in junior high school. i live & breathe for this.

my dad, sisters, bestfriends (mila & reva) and also boyfriend has been really supportive about this hobby of mine. sometimes when i felt insecure because some people tend to looked down on me because i didn't have the fancy gadget, they said it doesn't matter what camera you use, it's the photos that counts. to be honest, i didn't even use a DSLR camera, this is just my digicam (who's going to die and cannot be use anymore pretty soon) and my photoshop skill. but who am i to judge myself? all i know that i wanna finished college as fast as i can and then work in this field. amen.
